Madison, Wisconsin · Asphalt & Concrete
Badger Paving builds driveways, parking lots, and commercial surfaces across south central Wisconsin. Proper grading, real compaction, clean edges, and a written price before we ever start.
What we do
Whether it is a single driveway or a full commercial lot, the work runs the same way: grade it properly, compact the base, lay quality material, and finish the edges clean.
New asphalt surfaces built on a properly graded, compacted base so they drain right and hold up.

Most asphalt failures do not start on top. They start underneath, where water got into a base that was never compacted right or never given anywhere to drain. We spend the time down there so the surface you paid for lasts.
How a project runs
Where we work
We are a Madison area company and we stay in this area. That means shorter drives, faster scheduling, and crews who know the soil and the winters here.
What customers say
They rebuilt the base on our driveway instead of just paving over the old mess. Two winters in and it still looks new.

Homeowner · Middleton, WICommon questions
Hot mix asphalt needs warm ground and warm air to compact properly, so most paving runs from roughly late April through October depending on the year. Repairs, crack filling, and estimates happen year round. Call early: the calendar fills fast once the weather turns.
Passenger vehicles can usually get on it after 24 to 72 hours depending on temperature. Keep heavy trucks, trailer jacks, and kickstands off it longer, and avoid sharp turns while parked for the first few weeks. We go over specifics for your job at the final walkthrough.
If the surface is cracked but the base is solid, patching, crack filling, or an overlay usually makes sense. If you have potholes that keep coming back, spongy spots, or areas holding water, the base has failed and a repair will not hold. We will tell you honestly which one you are looking at.
Wait until the surface has fully cured, generally six to twelve months after paving. After that, sealcoating every two to three years protects against water, road salt, oil, and UV, and keeps the finish black instead of gray.
Yes. Plenty of projects need both, like an asphalt drive with a concrete apron or curbing. We handle the whole thing so you are not coordinating two contractors.
Tell us what you are working with and we will walk the site, measure it, and give you a written price. No pressure, no guesswork.
